Patti Lank (Lewiston, N.Y.) and Pete Fenson (Bemidji, Minn.) will lead their teams at the eighth edition of the Cup, which features six teams from North America taking on six teams representing Team World in four days of competition, including traditional team games, mixed doubles, singles, mixed skins and men's and women's skins competitions.
For the sixth straight year, The Chicago Community Trust has awarded a grant to USA Curling to further assist in the growth of the Olympic sport. USA Curling hopes to continue its upward membership growth pattern, which has increased greatly in the past 10 years, with the addition of several new curling clubs and steady growth in dedicated curling areas.
(STEVENS POINT, Wis.) - Sandra McMakin (Potomac, Md.) has been named 2011 USA Curling Developmental Coach of the Year.
McMakin was nominated for her work with the Stephen Dropkin junior team, which finished second at the 2011 USA Curling Junior National Championships, as well as Brandon Corbett's men's team, which competed in the men's national qualifier. The award also honors McMakin's ongoing dedication to coaching and training curlers.
