As the round robin winds down at the 2013 USA Curling Junior National Championships in Wayland, Mass., familiar names are at the top of the standings along with some rookies as the teams push toward this weekend's playoffs at the Broomstones Curling Club.

Wisconsin's Jenna Haag rink earned its fourth straight win to improve to 6-1 in the round robin standings, good for a three-way tie with the defending champs from Minnesota led by Cory Christensen and Miranda Solem's High Performance team, which finished second at the 2012 Junior Nationals. Haag (Milton, Wis.) and teammates Chloe Pahl (Green Bay, Wis.), Grace Gabower (Milton, Wis.), Erin Wallace (Green Bay, Wis.), and Brittany Falk (Poynette, Wis.) outscored Washington's Shelby Sweet rink, 12-4, this morning and then shut out Michigan's Alexis Schroeder, 9-0, tonight. Christensen's rink also earned two wins today. The Minnesota ladies defeated Hannah Ely's New York rink, 10-5, in the noon draw and then outscored Alaska, 13-1, to pick up their sixth win tonight.

Two Minnesota women's rinks remain undefeated as the round robin nears the halfway point at 2013 USA Curling Junior National Championships sweeps along in Wayland, Mass.

Cory Christensen (Duluth, Minn.) and Miranda Solem (Cohasset, Minn.) earned wins last night to keep their records unblemished and atop the women's division.

With 14 draws of action in the books, the standings are starting to separate as teams focus on qualifying for this weekend's playoffs of the 2013 USA Curling Junior National Championships in Wayland, Mass.

Today's games at the Broomstones Curling Club saw Minnesota II's Anthony Wright rink earn its fourth straight victory after starting the tournament 0-2. Wright (Duluth, Minn.) and teammates Will Howieson (Good Thunder, Minn.), Jesse Jaeger (Madison Lake, Minn.) and Wesley Leksell (Duluth, Minn.) defeated their Minnesota counterparts led by Ethan Meyers (Duluth, Minn.), 7-4, in tonight's game to improve to 4-2, which puts them in a four-way tie for second place behind Korey Dropkin's High Performance Team (5-1).

A new senior men's champion was crowned as the 2013 USA Curling Senior National Championships came to a close last night at the Fairbanks Curling Club in Fairbanks, Alaska.

The Gert Messing rink of New York defeated North Dakota's Dave Jensen, 7-4, to win the team's first trip to the World Senior Championships. Messing (Hartsdale, N.Y.) and teammates Dennis Mellerup (Hoboken, N.J.), Donald Nickle (Long Valley, N.J.) and Bill Peskoff (Glen Gardner, N.J.) jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead after two ends and the Jensen rink was left chasing. The New York rink added four points in the sixth end to seal up the championship title.

Four teams remain unbeaten as the round robin of the 2013 USA Curling Junior National Championships sweeps along in Wayland, Mass.

The 10 men's and 10 women's teams are playing in a nine-game round robin through Friday morning followed by the playoffs, which begin Friday night at the Broomstones Curling Club.
