Much like on the women's side, a new men's team will wear USA on their jackets at the world championships as the Page playoffs got underway this morning at the 2013 USA Curling National Championships presented by Brooms Up Curling Supplies.

Minnesota's Tyler George led his team to a 6-4 win over two-time Olympian John Shuster (Duluth, Minn.) in the men's Page playoff 1-2 game. Today's victory moves the George rink into tomorrow afternoon's gold-medal final at the Resch Olympic Pavilion at Cornerstone Community Ice Rink.

With the win, George (Duluth, Minn.) and teammates Chris Plys (Duluth, Minn.), Rich Ruohonen (Minneapolis, Minn.) and Colin Hufman (Seattle) also secured a spot in the upcoming 2014 U.S. Olympic Team Trials.

Ten-time national champion Allison Pottinger (Eden Prairie, Minn.) added another medal to her collection as she led her team to an 11-2 victory this afternoon in the bronze-medal game at the 2013 USA Curling National Championships presented by Brooms Up Curling Supplies.

Pottinger and teammates Nicole Joraanstad (Verona, Wis.), Natalie Nicholson (Bemidji, Minn.) and Tabitha Peterson (Eagan, Minn.) got off to a fast start over the younger Carlson rink and just had to play defense in the latter ends of the game.

Seattle's Brady Clark is no stranger to championship finals but tomorrow he'll play in his first men's gold medal game after defeating John Shuster on the last rock of the men's semifinal tonight at the 2013 USA Curling National Championships presented by Brooms Up Curling Supplies.

Clark, who has won nine U.S. mixed national titles and three U.S. mixed doubles national titles, survived the semifinal to reach the men's final tomorrow afternoon against Tyler George (Duluth, Minn.) at the Resch Olympic Pavilion at the Cornerstone Community Ice Center.

Two men's playoffs teams are decided but five teams are tied for the other two berths as the round robin concluded this morning at the 2013 USA Curling National Championships presented by Brooms Up Curling Supplies Pavilion in Green Bay, Wis.

Duluth's Tyler George and John Shuster both finished the round robin with 7-2 records and will play in the Page 1-2 playoffs tomorrow morning at 9 at the Olympic Resch Pavilion at the Cornerstone Community Ice Center.

Tyler George's rink got past Heath McCormick, 7-5, to lock down the top playoff spot. John Shuster's team defeated Pete Fenson, 8-1, to earn the No. 2 playoff seed.

A brand new women's champion will be crowned on Saturday at the 2013 USA Curling National Championships presented by Brooms Up Curling Supplies.

Courtney George (St. Paul, Minn.) and Erika Brown (Oakville, Ontario) won their semifinal matches tonight to advance to the gold medal game at the Resch Olympic Pavilion.

George and teammates Aileen Sormunen (Duluth, Minn.), Amanda McLean (St. Paul, Minn.) and Julie Lilla (Trempealeau, Wis.) defeated Alexandra Carlson, 9-6, to make their first ever appearance in the gold medal game.

A four-way tie for first place leaves the men's playoff field still wide open as the men finished their seventh match this morning at the 2013 USA Curling National Championships presented by Brooms Up Curling Supplies Pavilion in Green Bay, Wis.

2010 national champion Tyler George (Duluth, Minn.) led his team to its fourth straight victory to improve to 5-2 in the standings with two round robin games remaining at the Resch Olympic Pavilion at the Cornerstone Community Ice Center. George and teammates Chris Plys (Duluth, Minn.), Rich Ruohonen (Minneapolis, Minn.) and Colin Hufman (Duluth, Minn.) earned an 8-1 victory over Ryan Lemke's Wisconsin rink (0-7).
