USA in second place at 2013 World Wheelchair Championship in Russia

Team USA shook off an earlier loss in the day to Canada to rebound with a convincing win over Slovakia to remain in the hunt for a playoff berth at the 2013 World Wheelchair Championship in Sochi, Russia.

Patrick McDonald (Madison, Wis.) and teammates David Palmer (Mashpee, Mass.), Jimmy Joseph (New Hartford, N.Y.) and Penny Greely (Green Bay, Wis.) lost to Canada, 7-1, in the morning session at the Ice Cube Curling Center as the Americans struggled to put points on the scoreboard.
