USA ladies to play tiebreaker at 2012 World Seniors

April 19, 2012
Pam Oleinik and the American ladies will play at least one more day at the 2012 World Senior Championships as they qualified to play in a tiebreaker match against Scotland with the winner moving on to Saturday's semifinals at the TÄrnby Curling Club just outside Copenhagen, Denmark.

Oleinik (Brookfield, Wis.), Laurie Rahn (Lake Forest, Ill.), Stephanie Martin (Barrington, Ill.), Julie Denten (Northbrook, Ill.) and Joni Cotten (Mount Prospect, Ill.) completed the six-game round robin with a 7-2 victory over Finland's Kirsti Kauste rink earlier today. They had to wait for the results of tonight's game between Canada and Scotland to determine whether they would play in a tiebreaker game or not. After Scotland lost to Canada, a two-way tie for second place in Pool A with the Americans and Scots was the end result. Those two teams will meet in a tiebreaker at 9 a.m. tomorrow.
