January 28, 2013
A new senior men's champion was crowned as the 2013 USA Curling Senior National Championships came to a close last night at the Fairbanks Curling Club in Fairbanks, Alaska.

The Gert Messing rink of New York defeated North Dakota's Dave Jensen, 7-4, to win the team's first trip to the World Senior Championships. Messing (Hartsdale, N.Y.) and teammates Dennis Mellerup (Hoboken, N.J.), Donald Nickle (Long Valley, N.J.) and Bill Peskoff (Glen Gardner, N.J.) jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead after two ends and the Jensen rink was left chasing.
