The Magnificent Seven was the name given to the 1996 U.S. Olympic Women's Gymnastics Team, which won the first-ever gold medal for the United States in the women's team competition at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games. The seven members of the team were Amanda Borden, Amy Chow, Dominique Dawes, Shannon Miller, Dominique Moceanu, Jaycie Phelps and Kerri Strug. The Magnificent Seven inspired Aly Raisman, who would follow in their footsteps at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
