INTERNATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS: 2010 – NORCECA Women’s Junior Continental Championship (Gold). 2009 – FIVB Girls’ Youth World Championship. 2008 – NORCECA Girls’ Youth Continental Championship (Gold).

USA VOLLEYBALL HIGHLIGHTS: 2011 – Selected to the U.S. Women’s Junior National Team that will compete at the FIVB Women’s Junior World Championship. 2010 – Starter on U.S. Women’s Junior National Team that won the NORCECA Women’s Junior Continental Championship to qualify for the 2011 FIVB Women’s Junior World Championship. 2009 – Selected to the U.S. Girls’ Youth National Team which competed at FIVB Girls’ Youth World Championship. 2008 – Part of gold-medal winning team which won the gold medal at the NORCECA Girls’ Youth Continental Championship, which qualified the U.S. into the 2009 FIVB World Championship. Scored 38 points (24 kills, 8 blocks, 6 aces) at the NORCECA Championship for 16th place. 2007 – Led USA Select A1 Team to silver medal in the Youth International Division of the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships.

PERSONAL: Born Carly Anela Wopat on Oct. 13, 1992, in Santa Barbara, Calif.… Father is Ron Wopat and Mother is Kathy Wopat… Father Ron competed in the 1980 U.S. Olympic Trials for the decathlon and placed 12th out of 32 competitors and was a part of the eight-member 1981 U.S. Decathlon Team…Mother Kathy competed in gymnastics and track and field at UC Santa Barbara…Brothers are Jackson (1995) and Eli (1998) and twin sister is Samantha (1992)…Sister Samantha was also selected to the 2009 U.S. Girls’ Youth National Team and 2010 U.S. Women’s Junior National Training Team…Has played beach volleyball for five years and her partner is her twin sister Sam…Majoring in human biology at Stanford University…Hobbies include traveling, beach volleyball, playing guitar, rock climbing…Favorite food is musbi…Favorite book is Roots by Alex Haley…Favorite music type is everything…Favorite musical group is Jack Johnson…Favorite movie is Across the Universe…Favorite professional team is Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor…Favorite athlete is Brian Wilson…Most admired person is Lance Armstrong because “I read his book ‘It’s Not About the Bike’ and was greatly inspired by his story and what he has achieved.”

INTERESTING NOTES: “My Dad has six older brothers and grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin. His brother Tom Wopat is an actor (who does Broadway now) and played Luke Duke on the TV show Dukes of Hazzard. My Mom was raised in Hawaii. I am a member of the Dos Pueblos High School Engineering Academy and look forward to being on the robotics team next year. I recently (April 2009) broke the school record in discus for track and field! I have a twin and 2 little brothers."
