In 2013, the U.S. Olympic Committee launched Team USA Endurance, a fundraising platform that gives a team of amateur athletes the unique opportunity to not only support Team USA, but become a member of Team USA. Team USA Endurance has again joined the New York City Marathon as an Official Charity Partner for the 2014 edition, which is slated for Nov. 2.
Team USA Endurance athletes will represent Team USA on the 26.2 mile course through the five boroughs of New York City. They will take on the ultimate running challenge in order to raise awareness and donations to support U.S. Olympians, Paralympians and hopefuls through the USOC, a non-profit organization that receives no government funding for Olympic programs.
Of course, being a part of Team USA does come with benefits. The world’s most successful team is behind these amateur athletes, supporting them all the way to ensure they have a successful fundraising campaign and perform at their best on race day. All Team USA Endurance athletes receive:
- Access to U.S. Olympians and Paralympians for advice and support
- Exclusive Team USA apparel and equipment
- Health and training tips from Olympic and Paralympic experts, and so much more
All funds raised by Team USA Endurance will go directly to support America’s Olympians and Paralympians as they prepare for the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and help pave the way for the next generation of elite American athletes. Limited spaces are still available for the 2014 team, but they won’t last long. To learn more about becoming a member of Team USA Endurance, email TeamUSAEndurance@usoc.org.
